Flame lights Olympic cauldron for Paris Games

The Olympic cauldron at the 2024 Paris Games was officially lit by the Olympic flame, carried by athletes. The cauldron, shaped like a hot air balloon, ascended into the night sky of Paris. The opening ceremony featured various performances, including Céline Dion and Lady Gaga, as well as a mesmerizing metal horse galloping down the Seine River. Team USA made a grand entrance, while the smallest Ukrainian delegation also participated. Snoop Dogg remarked on the significance of holding the torch as a symbol of peace. The ceremony culminated in an elaborate light show projected from the Eiffel Tower and the cauldron being lit by the Olympic flame. The 2024 Paris Olympics can be watched on NBC and streamed on Peacock from July 26 to August 11.
