Local Kids Learn About Western Lifestyle at Annual “Day On the Range”

More than a dozen boys and girls in Colorado Springs got a taste of Western life at the annual “Day On The Range” event hosted by the Pikes Peak Range Riders Foundation. Kids ages 6 through 12 visited 11 different learning stations, where they learned about the Western lifestyle, history of cowboys in Colorado, and skills like riding horses and raising livestock. Members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office were also present to answer questions. The event aimed to give back to kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs in the Pikes Peak Region, providing hands-on learning opportunities. One participant, Pierre, expressed his excitement about learning new skills like planting seeds and growing a garden. The Pikes Peak Range Riders Foundation hopes to continue the tradition of “Day On The Range” for years to come. This event serves as a way to engage kids in Western culture and provide them with valuable learning experiences.
