Governor Parson of Missouri embarks on a 5-day European journey, engaging with aerospace and manufacturing leaders

Missouri Governor Mike Parson embarked on a five-day trade mission to the United Kingdom and Belgium, two key trade partners that received a total of $637 million in Missouri exports in 2023. The purpose of the trip is to promote Missouri as a prime business destination and strengthen existing relationships while fostering new partnerships with businesses looking to invest in the state.

In the United Kingdom, Parson will attend the Farnborough International Airshow and meet with executives from aerospace companies such as Boeing, Leonardo, and Sonaca, all of which have facilities in Missouri. He will also meet with the British Ambassador to the United States, emphasizing the significant workforce involved in the aerospace industry in Missouri.

In Belgium, Parson is set to meet with executives from companies like Anheuser-Busch InBev, Duvel Moorgat, and Whitebridge Pet Brands. Duvel Moorgat, which owns Boulevard Brewing in Kansas City, employs hundreds of people in Missouri and generates millions in revenue annually.

Missouri’s exports to other countries saw a 3.8% increase between the first quarter of 2023 and 2024, totaling nearly $4.5 billion. Canada, Mexico, and Germany were the top recipient countries, with Israel experiencing the largest percentage growth in exports followed by Belgium and India.

The trade mission highlights Missouri’s commitment to expanding international trade opportunities and strengthens its position as a global business hub.
