A house explosion in Missouri’s capital city of Jefferson City early Saturday morning resulted in six people being injured, three of them critically. The explosion, which occurred at 2:44 a.m., is currently under investigation by the Jefferson City Fire Department.
At the time of the explosion, there were six individuals inside the home. Emergency responders found all of the victims among the rubble. The house sustained significant damage, making it challenging for the rescue team to reach all of the victims within the debris. It took more than three hours for the team to extract the final occupant, who required intensive extraction.
Three of the individuals were listed in critical condition, while the other three were in stable condition. Additionally, two pets were rescued from the home and are now in the care of animal control. The Jefferson City Fire Department continues to investigate the cause of the explosion.
