Former Olympic snowboarder Ryan James Wedding has been charged with running a drug smuggling operation that shipped large amounts of narcotics across borders and resulted in the deaths of four people. A $50,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest. Wedding is considered armed and dangerous and is currently a fugitive. He is one of 16 defendants indicted for running a transnational drug trafficking operation that transported hundreds of kilograms of cocaine. The gang’s leaders were involved in multiple murders in connection with their drug crimes. Wedding, also known as “El Jefe,” “Giant,” and “Public Enemy,” faces multiple felony charges including running a criminal enterprise and murder. Another defendant, Andrew Clark, has been arrested in Mexico. The gang allegedly shipped up to 827 pounds of cocaine in a single month from Mexico to California and then to Ontario, Canada using semi-trucks. Wedding and Clark are accused of directing the killing of two individuals in Ontario in retaliation for a stolen drug shipment. The FBI and DEA, in partnership with other law enforcement agencies, have seized large amounts of cocaine, firearms, ammunition, cash, and cryptocurrency during the investigation. Wedding, once an Olympic athlete, is now facing serious criminal charges for leading a drug trafficking organization involved in violence and murder.
