Gas Prices Rise in Iowa and Missouri
IOWA/MISSOURI — Gas prices have seen a notable increase in both Iowa and Missouri over the past week, as reported by GasBuddy. In Iowa, the average price for a gallon of gas rose by 15.7 cents to $3.05 on Monday, marking a 6.6 cent increase compared to the previous month but remaining 13.8 cents lower than this time last year.
In neighboring Missouri, gas prices climbed by 4.2 cents over the week, with the average reaching $2.88 on Monday. Interestingly, prices in the Show Me State are slightly down by 0.5 cents compared to a month ago and 20.1 cents lower than a year ago.
On a national scale, the average price for gas jumped by 9.7 cents, settling at $3.18 on Monday. Diesel prices also saw an upward trend, increasing by 16.1 cents to reach an average of $3.649 a gallon.
