Boil Advisory Issued for Buchanan County After Water Main Break
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri American Water Corporation has officially announced a Boil Water Advisory affecting parts of Buchanan County, triggered by a water main break.
Crews began repair work at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, with an expected completion time of around seven hours. In the interim, the utility company has advised residents to boil any water intended for drinking or cooking purposes for three minutes. The advisory is expected to remain in effect for about 48 hours.
While water quality for bathing, washing, and other common uses is deemed safe, residents should take precautions regarding consumption until the advisory is lifted. Missouri American Water has committed to notifying the public once normal water safety levels are restored.
