Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Own Vehicle in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Tragedy struck Sunday afternoon at the Fast Stop gas station located at 7100 Eastwood Trafficway when a pedestrian was fatally struck by their own vehicle.
According to police reports, the incident occurred when the victim parked their green Ford F-150 in front of the shop and proceeded to pump gas. For reasons yet to be determined, the truck began to roll backward. In a desperate attempt to regain control, the driver attempted to enter the vehicle through the passenger side. Unfortunately, they fell and were subsequently run over by the truck.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead on-site. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
