Fogle Launches Campaign for Senate

Betsy Fogle Launches State Senate Campaign in Springfield with Strong Support

Springfield, MO — Representative Betsy Fogle officially announced her candidacy for the Missouri State Senate’s 30th District in Phelps Grove Park, drawing a crowd of over 250 supporters and raising nearly $68,000 during her kickoff event. This marks a significant launch for what is anticipated to be a fiercely competitive race, especially with rival Rep. Melanie Stinnett also entering the contest.

Fogle, a lifelong Springfield resident and product of the city’s public schools, emphasized her commitment to public service. With a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University and a master’s from the University of Arkansas, she recounted her motivations for running in 2020, citing her experience at the Jordan Valley Health Center. "I saw first hand how gaps in the social safety net affected working class families," she noted.

Since her election, Fogle has emerged as a promising leader within the House Democratic caucus, particularly noted for her role on the House Budget Committee. As ranking minority member on multiple committees, she has been instrumental in advocating for balanced state budgeting.

The kickoff event featured endorsements from Springfield Central Labor Council President Justin McCarty and former House Minority Leader Crystal Quade, who praised Fogle’s dedication to her community. Quade highlighted Fogle’s relentless advocacy for Springfield.

Fogle’s platform centers on public education and opposing one-party dominance in state politics, warning that Republican supermajorities have led to unchecked power that negatively impacts Missouri. She pledged to prioritize funding for public schools and uplift the next generation of Missourians.

As Senate District 30 becomes a closely watched battleground, Fogle’s entry signals a pivotal moment in Missouri politics, offering voters a distinct choice as the 2025 election approaches.
