Missouri Tigers’ Roster Improvements Signal Continued Success Ahead of 2025 Season

As anticipation builds for the 2025 college football season, the Missouri Tigers are capturing attention for their impressive roster enhancements, defying expectations of a decline after two consecutive 10-win seasons. CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford recognizes Missouri among the top six teams with the most improved rosters this offseason.

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz expressed confidence in the talent level of the upcoming roster, calling it the strongest he has overseen in his six years at Missouri. Notably, the Tigers have welcomed quarterback Beau Pribula and wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. through the transfer portal. While these players are not direct replacements for former multi-year starters Brady Cook and Luther Burden III, Pribula is anticipated to provide a marked improvement over last season’s quarterback struggles, which were plagued by injuries and inconsistency.

The Tigers have also fortified their defensive lineup, particularly at the edge rusher position, by acquiring top-ranked player Damon Wilson II from Georgia. Despite losing two-year starter Johnny Walker Jr. to the NFL and the transfer of five-star prospect Williams Nwaneri to Nebraska, the pairing of Wilson with returning starter Zion Young shows potential for a formidable defensive front.

In addition to Missouri, Crawford highlighted other programs on the rise, including LSU, Miami, Texas Tech, Florida State, and Oklahoma, showcasing a competitive landscape ahead.

With these strategic moves, Missouri positions itself as a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season, aiming to build on its recent successes and maintain momentum within the challenging SEC.
