ST. LOUIS – In the wake of a devastating tornado that ravaged St. Louis three weeks ago, the urgency for financial aid is palpable as local and state initiatives gain momentum. At the local level, the St. Louis Board of Aldermen has introduced Board Bill 31, which aims to allocate $30 million from the NFL Rams relocation settlement into a dedicated “tornado relief and recovery fund.” This fund will provide critical services to prevent homelessness, repair damaged infrastructure, and offer financial support for affected residents. In tandem, Missouri lawmakers have proposed a $100 million disaster relief fund as part of a broader $360 million emergency spending package. This funding is designated for cities not within a county, explicitly benefiting St. Louis.
