Serious Collision on Highway 65 Leaves Three Injured
TINDALL, Mo. — A severe head-on collision on Highway 65, just northeast of Tindall, resulted in serious injuries for a driver and two passengers, including a 10-year-old child. The incident unfolded around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, when emergency services responded to a two-vehicle crash near NE Mica Lane.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 49-year-old man from Princeton was driving a 2024 Toyota Corolla southbound, while a 54-year-old Trenton man was operating a 2023 Ford Maverick in the opposite direction. The Princeton driver allegedly crossed into the northbound lane, prompting the Trenton driver to attempt to veer westward to avoid a collision. However, the Princeton driver corrected his vehicle at the same moment, leading to a head-on impact.
First responders found both vehicles severely damaged and noted that the Corolla and Maverick veered off the highway in opposite directions. The Princeton driver and his passengers — a 73-year-old and a 10-year-old — were transported to Wright Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The child was subsequently moved to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for further treatment. Fortunately, the Trenton man emerged from the crash unscathed. All individuals involved were wearing seatbelts. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
