Mizzou Football Heads to Jamaica for Service Trip
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou football is set to make a meaningful impact as they embark on a week-long service trip to Harmons, Jamaica, following the conclusion of finals. A group of approximately 60 players, coaches, and staff will engage in community service efforts to assist the small village of around 3,000 inhabitants, where underemployment affects nearly two-thirds of the population.
During their time in Harmons, the team will participate in various projects aimed at uplifting the community. These include house construction, refurbishing local infrastructure, serving in schools, and participating in the "Meals on Heels" program, where players will share dinner in the homes of local families. The trip comes at a crucial time, as resources are limited, and many residents face challenges in accessing consistent education and basic necessities like food and medical care.
