Swade Cannabis to Expand Retail Footprint in Missouri with Acquisition
ST. LOUIS — Swade Cannabis, a St. Louis-based cannabis dispensary, is poised to significantly expand its presence in Missouri by acquiring five dispensaries in the Kansas City area. The acquisition, which aims to nearly double Swade’s retail footprint in the state, involves taking over the operations of BesaMe Wellness, a Smithville-based company known for being one of Missouri’s early medical marijuana dispensaries.
According to Joey Pintozzi, Swade’s chief strategy and revenue officer, the company is currently operating under a Management Services Agreement (MSA) as it seeks final approval for the acquisition from the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. Specific terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and it does not encompass any other operations of BesaMe Wellness, which has been in business since 2020 and is co-owned by investor Jack Mitchell.
This expansion reflects Swade Cannabis’s commitment to increasing access to medical marijuana across Missouri, further solidifying its position in the state’s burgeoning cannabis market. As the cannabis industry continues to expand, Swade aims to enhance its service offerings and meet the needs of patients in the Kansas City region.
