Texas A&M Baseball Falls to Missouri in Series Opener, 9-6
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M baseball team began their series against Missouri with a disappointing 9-6 defeat on Friday night at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Aggies (27-21, 10-15) started strong, with Jace LaViolette hitting a leadoff home run—his first in his career—clocking in at 112 mph and traveling 415 feet. In the third inning, the Aggies surged ahead, scoring five runs. LaViolette and Wyatt Henseler launched back-to-back solo homers, extending A&M’s lead to 6-1 after Blake Binderup’s three-run shot further bolstered their advantage.
However, the Tigers (14-35, 1-24) fought back, narrowing A&M’s lead to 6-3 with a two-run homer in the fifth. The Aggies struggled offensively, managing only one hit in the last five frames. In a dramatic ninth inning, Missouri capitalized on a bases-loaded situation, scoring six runs to take the lead.
Despite a solid performance from starter Ryan Prager, who struck out seven over six innings, the Aggies fell short. Kaiden Wilson took the loss, allowing three runs in relief.
Texas A&M recorded seven hits, with multiple hits from Henseler, LaViolette, and Caden Sorrell. Binderup led the team with three RBIs. The Aggies lead the all-time series against Missouri, 56-39-2.
