Bears Shine at MoState Twilight Track and Field Meet
SPRINGFIELD, MO – Missouri State’s track and field team showcased impressive talent during the MoState Twilight meet, their only home event of the outdoor season, securing seven event victories.
The day began with the 4×100-meter relay team of Kayleigh Jenkins, Olivia Rogers, Brianna Howard, and Rakiya Lang clinching first place with a time of 45.61 seconds, outpacing Evangel by over two seconds. The 4×400-meter relay followed, where Raegan Foster, Katie Griffin, Abby Meyer, and Raegan Schnurbusch not only finished first but did so with a remarkable time of 4:02.84, beating Drury by nearly 24 seconds.
Three freshmen also found success on their home turf, with BreAna Garrett winning the 400-meter dash in 56.47 seconds, Elsa Henry taking the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:50.10, and Cheria Galbreath emerging victorious in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.79.
In the 3000-meter run, all competitors represented Missouri State, with Ella Cronhardt taking the win in 10:08.74. Jordan Drum secured the team’s sole field victory in pole vaulting, clearing 3.43 meters.
As the Bears gear up for the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship, scheduled for May 17-18 at Southern Illinois, momentum is on their side after this standout performance.
