Press Release: Ffion Tynan Caps Historic Season for Mizzou Women’s Golf at NCAA Regional
Norman, Oklahoma – Senior Ffion Tynan of the University of Missouri women’s golf team concluded her remarkable season at the NCAA Regional on Wednesday, solidifying a standout year for the Tigers.
Tynan’s senior campaign featured three top-10 finishes, including her first career top-five finish at the prestigious Johnie Imes Invitational. She emerged as the team’s leader with an impressive stroke average of 73.83, finishing atop the leaderboard in four out of ten tournaments. Her career stroke average of 73.79 ranks as the fourth best in Missouri’s history, demonstrating her consistent excellence throughout her collegiate tenure.
Notably, Tynan’s stellar performance throughout the season, which included eight consecutive top-15 finishes, earned her a place among the top 200 golfers in the NCAA. This achievement marked the Tigers’ first individual NCAA regional bid since Jessica Yuen in 2021.
In the final round of the tournament, Tynan carded a six-over-par 78, concluding with a 54-hole total of 230 (79-73-78). Amidst a competitive field of 65 golfers—22 of whom were ranked in the top 150—Tynan finished in 55th place overall. Her tournament highlights included two birdies on the back nine during the second round, showcasing her skill and determination.
As Tynan closes this chapter of her collegiate career, she leaves an indelible mark on the Mizzou women’s golf program, inspiring future generations of golfers. The Tigers look forward to building on this success in the upcoming seasons.
