Severe storms hit Mid-Missouri, causing power outages and damage on Sunday. Nearly 4,000 Boone Electric Cooperative customers were without power near Hallsville and Columbia, while Ameren reported 1,870 customers without service near Ashland and the Lake of the Ozarks. One person was injured in Callaway County due to a tornado, and a second round of storms caused damage in Columbia. The National Weather Service reported high wind damage near Guthrie, with tornado sirens in Fulton experiencing a malfunction. Tornado warnings were issued in the Lake of the Ozarks area and Camdenton. The storm system also hit Columbia, with a 61 mph gust reported in California and a 66 mph gust at the Bradford Research Farm. Boone County Emergency Management Director Chris Kelley stated that trees had fallen into homes and power lines were down on roads, leading to multiple reports of damage.
