Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) was recently listed as the top public university in the state and among the nation’s best for pursuing a graduate degree in engineering, according to the annual U.S. News & World Report rankings released on April 8. The university moved up four spots to No. 49 nationally among public universities for graduate engineering programs and tied for No. 81 overall.
Five of S&T’s engineering programs saw improvements in their rankings compared to last year, including Aerospace engineering, Chemical engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, and Systems engineering. Additionally, other engineering programs at S&T also received national rankings in various fields such as civil engineering, computer engineering, environmental engineering, materials science and engineering, nuclear engineering, and petroleum engineering.
These rankings come after S&T received R-1 status from the Carnegie Foundation earlier this year, classifying the university in the highest tier of research universities. Dr. David Borrok, vice provost and dean of S&T’s College of Engineering and Computing, highlighted the university’s dedication to conducting research that addresses global challenges and investing in research infrastructure to support innovation.
Missouri S&T, a STEM-focused research university with over 7,000 students, offers over 100 degrees in 40 areas of study and is known for its strong salary impact on graduates. For more information about Missouri S&T and its College of Engineering and Computing, visit their website.
