Missouri State Tennis Falls to Murray State in Home Finale
Missouri State tennis ended its home schedule with a 5-2 loss to Missouri Valley Conference leader Murray State. Junior Billur Gonlusen shined with a perfect record over the weekend, winning both her doubles and singles matches against both Belmont and Murray State. Gonlusen and partner Tuana Gunal secured a doubles win against Murray State’s top pair and Gonlusen battled to victory in the singles match with two tight tiebreaker sets.
Gunal also fought hard in her singles match, ultimately winning in three sets. The Bears remain tied with Bradley for the final spot in the postseason tournament as they head into their final regular-season matches on the road at Drake and Northern Iowa.
Despite the loss, Missouri State showed their competitive spirit and determination throughout the matches. The team looks to continue their strong play as they head into the postseason tournament.
