Mid-Missouri baseball teams complete Missouri River Festival games on Saturday.


Mid-Missouri was the center of baseball action this past weekend as teams from Jefferson City, Capital City, Blair Oaks, and Southern Boone participated in the Missouri River Festival. The Helias Crusaders dominated their game against Gateway Legacy, winning 10-0 in just five innings with senior Cam Hoelscher pitching a no-hitter. Capital City had a tough 10-inning match against Union, holding a lead late but ultimately losing 13-9. The Fatima Comets secured a decisive victory over Pembroke Hill, scoring 12 runs in the first inning and winning 20-5. The Blair Oaks Falcons also came out on top in a nail-biting extra innings game against Troy Buchanan, with a walk-off win by Cole Ortbals. Southern Boone Eagles showed their strength by defeating the Timberland Wolves 3-1 after being tied at one run apiece.
