Businesses in Missouri generate millions through the cannabis industry.

Former St. Louis city police officer, Bryce Stull, and his colleagues have taken on a new role in the cannabis industry, working for a cannabis transportation firm named Talaria Transportation. After a decade of cracking down on weed-related crimes, Stull now helps move marijuana products and profits around Missouri. With the legalization of adult-use cannabis sales in 2022, the market has boomed, bringing in $2.5 billion in sales over the past two years. Entrepreneurs in the state are looking to capitalize on this growing industry, with businesses like mobile cannabis waste management services, cannabis-infused dining experiences, and private pot lounges popping up.

Talaria Transportation, headquartered in Pennsylvania, holds two of the 31 transportation facility licenses issued in Missouri. The company, which is staffed by former law enforcement officers and military members, transports cannabis products between dispensaries, manufacturing facilities, cultivation facilities, and testing labs. Talaria CEO Ari Raptis sees significant growth potential in Missouri’s cannabis market, with plans to expand the business by 60% this year.

Overall, Talaria transports around $1.5 billion worth of cannabis annually nationwide, with about $80 million worth of products moved in Missouri each year. Stull, who now works as the vault manager at Talaria’s sister company, National Secure Transport in St. Louis, has witnessed the explosive growth of the cannabis market since joining the industry in 2022.
