Brenda Ruth Deutsch, a 70-year-old Missouri woman, is facing serious charges after being accused of neglect, child abuse, and child endangerment in connection with her foster child. The Lincoln County Prosecutor, Mike Wood, stated that Deutsch, who has fostered over 200 children, is also being investigated for allegedly trading the child for an exotic monkey.
Deutsch allegedly physically abused the teenager, using various objects like a paddle, shoes, and her hand, resulting in injuries. She also reportedly sent the teenager to live in Texas under unsanitary conditions and inadequate supervision, prompting child protective services to intervene.
Wood indicated that the investigation may cover over a decade’s worth of abuse allegations and there could be more charges following as more information becomes available. Witnesses have come forward with information regarding the abuse in Deutsch’s home, including the alleged trade of the child for a monkey.
Deutsch’s bond has been set at $250,000, and her attorney has not been listed on court documents. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and officials in Texas are working together to further investigate allegations of child trafficking in this case. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the authorities.
