The University of Missouri softball team faced a tough 5-1 loss against No. 1 Oklahoma, wrapping up their home SEC series at Mizzou Softball Stadium. Despite the loss, Mizzou set a new regular-season weekend attendance record, welcoming 10,229 fans to the stadium. The Tigers took an early lead with a solo homer from Julia Crenshaw but couldn’t maintain it as Oklahoma came back to secure the win.
Crenshaw’s home run was her ninth of the season and matched her personal best set in 2023. The senior catcher from O’Fallon, Missouri has now accumulated 22 homers, 99 RBI, and 95 runs in her career at Mizzou. The loss was assessed to Marissa McCann, who pitched solidly for the Tigers.
Moving forward, Mizzou will face longtime rival Kansas in a midweek matchup followed by a weekend series against No. 20 Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi. The team is looking to bounce back from the tough loss and continue their pursuit of success in the SEC.
