The Minot State University (MSU) softball team faced tough competition during their games over spring break in Missouri. In a doubleheader against Evangel, the Beavers suffered heartbreaking losses, falling 1-0 in the first game and 5-4 in a walk-off in the second game. Despite strong offensive performances, MSU was unable to secure victories. However, the team bounced back with a 3-1 win against No. 20 McKendree, led by senior Reegan Floyd’s pitching and Taylor Smith’s hitting. In another game against Washburn, the Beavers struggled and ultimately fell 5-1.
The Beavers had a split record over the week, finishing with a 2-2 record. Despite the losses, the team showed resilience and determination, especially in close games. Head coach Sal Rodriguez and the team expressed optimism for the upcoming games as they continue to improve and work towards their goals for the season. The Beavers look forward to more opportunities to showcase their talent and compete at a high level in the remaining games of the season.
