Serious injuries sustained by 2 men in head-on collision on rural Missouri road

Two people were seriously injured in a head-on crash in Maryville, Missouri early Sunday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. on March 9 on MO-46.

The crash involved two men from Maryville who were driving in opposite directions. A 31-year-old man driving a 2017 Ford F150 crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 24-year-old man driving a 2003 Dodge 1500. The impact caused the Ford to partially veer off the road and block the westbound lane, while the Dodge came to a stop facing west on the north side of the road.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries, with the 24-year-old not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was airlifted to a hospital in Omaha, while the 31-year-old was taken to a hospital in St. Joseph via ambulance. Both cars were totaled in the accident.

In other news, a second man was arrested in connection to a deadly shooting outside a Kansas City liquor store. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities are reminding drivers to stay alert and follow traffic laws to prevent accidents.
