Pennsylvania residential area disaster leaves five injured after small plane collision

Five people on board a small plane that crashed in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, survived and were taken to hospitals, with their conditions unknown. The plane had just taken off from Lancaster Airport when it crashed in a retirement community. No one on the ground was injured, but five vehicles were damaged. The aircraft was a Beechcraft Bonanza carrying five people, crashing in the parking area of Brethren Village. The crash caused multiple fires, but they were extinguished. Witnesses reported that the plane may have skidded about 100 feet upon impact. Air traffic control radio traffic indicated that there was an open door on the aircraft shortly after takeoff. The plane was scheduled to fly to Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport in Ohio. Despite the crash, authorities were relieved that everyone on board survived and no one on the ground was hurt. The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to investigate the incident further. State resources, including police, were assisting in the response to the crash. The scene was under control a few hours after the crash. Governor Josh Shapiro emphasized that all resources were available for the ongoing response. The NTSB said they would provide more details on the incident later.
