Softball team prepares for Spring Break games in Branson, Missouri


The Minot State Softball team will be facing a busy schedule during their Spring Break in Branson, Missouri, with 8 challenging matchups lined up. The Beavers, currently with a record of 7-8, will kick off their schedule with doubleheaders against Cottey College and Missouri Valley College on Monday. They will then take on McKendree University and Washburn University on Tuesday, followed by a doubleheader against Evangel University on Wednesday. Thursday will see the Beavers facing Washburn University again, before closing out the Spring Games against Missouri S&T.

The Beavers will be facing some new opponents, including Cottey College, Evangel University, and Missouri S&T, along with re-matches against Missouri Valley College and Washburn University. The team will look to improve upon their earlier loss against Washburn University, where they fell short by a narrow margin of 4-3.

Offensively, Anna LaCount has been leading the Beavers with an impressive .458 batting average, while Taylor Smith, Sara Van Wickler, and Sarah Misner have been showcasing their power with two homeruns each. In the circle, Reegan Floyd has been a standout player with a record of 4-2 and an ERA of 2.67, supported by Jasmine Blizzard with an ERA of 1.15. As they gear up for an action-packed Spring Break, the Beavers are looking to build on their success and secure some crucial wins.
