Extra innings victory: Baseball team shocks SEC opponent Missouri with 8-7 win


The Binghamton baseball team pulled off a thrilling upset against SEC member Missouri on Friday night, winning 8-7 in 13 innings. Redshirt freshman Ben Griffith pitched three scoreless innings to secure his first collegiate win. The game featured impressive defensive plays, explosive offense, and shut-down relief pitching. Senior Devan Bade drove in the winning run with a two-out single in the 13th inning. Freshman Matt Bolton had a spectacular over-the-head catch in deep center field in the 10th inning to keep the game tied. In the 12th inning, right fielder Sam Miller made a key defensive play by throwing out a runner at home plate. The Bearcats rallied to tie the game in the sixth inning after falling behind 6-2. The win was Binghamton’s third all-time against an SEC team and their first win against a Power 4 team since 2017. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday. This victory marks a significant achievement for the Bearcats and demonstrates their strength against tough competition.
