Cooper’s Landing owner excited for upcoming fall renovations | Mid-Missouri News

Cooper’s Landing, a popular riverfront destination along the Missouri River, is set to undergo a major renovation project starting in October. The upgrades will include improvements to camping areas, dining, bathrooms, road infrastructure, and entertainment spaces to accommodate more guests. Planned enhancements consist of an expanded general store, improved road pavement, a full-service bar, and an upstairs room.

These renovations are aimed at improving accessibility and sustainability in the long term. The decision to remodel came after a devastating flood in 2019 that rendered Cooper’s Landing virtually unusable for events. The owner, Richard King, expressed the need for proper facilities to accommodate the many camping, hiking, and cycling enthusiasts who frequent the area.

Richard King, known for owning The Blue Note theater, purchased Cooper’s Landing in 2019, only to have the property heavily damaged by the Missouri River flood shortly after. With the renovation project on the horizon, Cooper’s Landing hopes to revitalize its facilities and offer better amenities for visitors. The remodeling plans signal an exciting new chapter for this iconic riverfront location.
