Athletics at the University of Oklahoma


The No. 14 Oklahoma women’s tennis team secured a dominant 4-0 victory over No. 69 Missouri in their SEC home opener at the Headington Family Tennis Center. It was the Sooners’ fifth ranked win of the season and their 29th win over Missouri all-time. Head coach Audra Cohen’s team came out strong, claiming the doubles point with new pairs Ava Catanzarite and Gloriana Nahum leading the charge. Emma Staker, Alina Shcherbinina, and Catanzarite delivered singles wins to secure the victory for OU.

The win marked Alina’s second dual win at the top spot, while Catanzarite’s victory clinched the match for the Sooners. The team now looks ahead to a matchup against No. 16 Vanderbilt on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
