Softball Team Goes 1-1 on First Day of Shocker Invitational


The University of Missouri softball team had a successful opening day at the 2025 Shocker Invitational, splitting their games with a loss to Oklahoma State and a win over Wichita State. In the first game, Missouri took a 2-0 lead against No. 15/16 Oklahoma State, but the Cowgirls rallied to win 4-3. Madison Walker hit a homer for MU. However, the Tigers bounced back in their second game of the day, defeating Wichita State 10-1 with a strong offensive performance, including a six-run fourth inning. Kayley Lenger and Julia Crenshaw had key hits in the game.

Missouri now sits at 9-9 in the 2025 season after the split at the invitational. The Tigers will continue their journey in the tournament facing South Dakota State and Nebraska on the following day. They will then return home for their 2025 home opener against Kansas City and later travel to Lexington, Kentucky for their SEC Opening Series against No. 24 Kentucky. Additionally, an initiative to build a Rock M at the Mizzou Softball Stadium is underway, set to debut at the home opener on March 4th.
