A 5-year-old girl named Giuliana Manning was abducted overnight by a man who is alleged to have killed two others and seriously injured another. The suspect, identified as George Manning, was later shot and killed by law enforcement officers. Giuliana was found safe around 5:10 a.m. Friday following an Amber Alert that was issued in the early hours of the morning. George Manning was believed to be a person of interest in a double homicide and child abduction case.
The incident began with the first homicide at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, where Manning shot a woman at a car wash. He then took a victim’s vehicle and drove to a residence in Platte County where he shot two more people, killing one and seriously injuring another. Manning then abducted the 5-year-old girl from the home.
Authorities later confirmed that one of the victims was a juvenile male and that they believed the other injured person was the mother of the boy killed and the abducted girl. Giuliana was found unharmed and reunited with her family later in the day. The public is assured that there is no ongoing safety threat, and authorities do not believe any other suspects were involved in the incident. The case remains under investigation as more details about the events continue to unfold.
