Lisa Jeanine Findley, a Missouri woman facing federal charges for a scam attempting to steal the Graceland estate from Elvis Presley’s family, has now accepted responsibility and pleaded guilty to mail fraud. Findley, who has a history of fraud and scams spanning decades, initially pleaded not guilty to mail fraud and aggravated identity theft. She has served time in state and federal prisons for previous scams that netted her hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The Graceland scam involved Findley forging names, signatures, and notary seals to create fake loan documents in an attempt to take control of the estate by claiming an unpaid debt from Lisa Marie Presley. The scheme was halted when Presley’s daughter objected and a judge intervened.
Findley, posing as an executive of the bogus company Naussany Investments, which claimed to be dropping the attempt to steal Graceland, was ultimately found out through digital clues that led back to her. She denied involvement when confronted by NBC News at her home, claiming her identification had been stolen.
Findley is set to be sentenced on June 18 for her role in the Graceland fraud. The case highlights her history of deception and criminal activity, with this latest scheme being one of her most audacious yet.
