The Junior League of Albany recently hosted a successful event called “Kids in the Kitchen” at the Albany Mall, aimed at educating children and their parents about making healthy lifestyle choices. The event featured stations where families could participate in activities such as cooking classes to learn how to prepare easy and nutritious snacks, discussions on body positivity and the importance of exercise, and even a station on planting vegetable seeds in a garden.
Organizer Cat Saunders emphasized the importance of supporting youth in making good choices regarding nutrition and physical activity, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the event, noting that Albany does not often have many activities geared towards children and their families. The event was praised for being unique, beneficial, and free for all families in the community.
Due to the positive feedback and success of the event, the Junior League of Albany plans to host similar events in the future.
