Tragic accident in Vernon County results in four fatalities on Friday evening


Four people were killed and six others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Vernon County, Missouri on Friday night. The crash occurred when a Toyota Corolla ran a stop sign and was struck by a GMC Terrain, causing the Corolla to hit a fence and tree. Among the victims were recent graduates of Climax Springs R-IV School District who were in the Corolla after attending a basketball game. The driver and three passengers in the Corolla were killed, while the driver of the Terrain also died in the crash. The surviving occupants were taken to hospitals for treatment. The crash marks the 11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th fatalities in Troop D this year. It was noted that four of the ten people involved were wearing seatbelts. The crash report stated that both vehicles were totaled. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
