Alabama loses to Missouri in high-scoring game, 110-98.


Alabama men’s basketball suffered a tough 110-98 loss on the road against Missouri, marking their second consecutive SEC defeat. Mark Sears put on a stellar performance, scoring a season-high 35 points for the Crimson Tide. However, it was not enough to overcome the early lead established by the Tigers, who led by as many as 20 points in the first half.

Alabama’s Mouhamed Dioubate recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway also made significant contributions to the team’s effort. Missouri was led by Mark Mitchell’s 31 points and Caleb Grill’s double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Head Coach Nate Oats expressed disappointment in his team’s defensive performance and acknowledged Missouri’s strong showing. The loss ended Alabama’s hopes of controlling their destiny in the SEC Championship race.

Despite shooting 54% from the field, Alabama struggled to contain Missouri’s offensive power, allowing the Tigers to score 104 points, the most by any opponent this season for the Crimson Tide. The team will look to bounce back as they face No. 17/21 Kentucky at home in their next game.

Alabama will host Kentucky on Saturday at Coleman Coliseum, aiming to get back on the winning track in the SEC. The game will be televised on ESPN at 5 p.m. CT.
