Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Welcomes Former Tiger; The Buzz, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025

Former Missouri running back Brock Olivo was recently inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Springfield. Olivo had an impressive career at Missouri, setting records in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and all-purpose yards. He also won the Mosi Tatupu National Special Teams Player of the Year Award in 1997.

While Olivo went undrafted in the NFL, he found a place with the Detroit Lions from 1998-2001, mainly as a special teams player. He has since worked on coaching staffs for various NFL teams and currently serves as the special teams assistant under coach Eli Drinkwitz at Missouri.

Olivo is the lone Tiger to be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, alongside former Kansas City Royal Johnny Damon and St. Louis Cardinal Matt Adams. Congratulations poured in for Olivo on social media, with Mizzou Football and other teams celebrating his achievement.

In other sports news, Mizzou Football is in the top 8 for a rising defensive back, a Mizzou wide receiver has received an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine, and Mizzou Basketball remains ranked after Week 14 poll updates. The sports teams at Mizzou continue to make headlines with their achievements and successes on and off the field.
