Spring-Like Weather Expected for Today and Tomorrow

After a day with stubborn clouds, Sunday is expected to bring a big change in the weather. Despite Punxsutawney Phil predicting six more weeks of winter, today will feel more like spring. With ample sunshine, temperatures will be 15-20 degrees above average in the low to mid 60s across Missouri and approaching 70 in Arkansas. The warm weather will continue into Monday with highs near 70 and lots of sunshine.

However, Tuesday and Wednesday will bring uncertainty as a frontal boundary moves through, causing varying temperatures across the region. Tuesday afternoon temperatures in Springfield could be in the mid 50s, while areas north of I-44 may see highs in the 40s and highs in the 60s in Arkansas. The front may bring isolated showers, but most areas will remain dry until Wednesday when more showers and thunderstorms are expected.

Cooler air will move in on Thursday, returning temperatures to February standards. Although a few isolated showers may linger, most areas will be dry. Long-range models show another brief warm-up next weekend before the cold returns. Overall, a mix of warm and cool temperatures can be expected throughout the week.
