Missouri State Bears secured their first MVC win of the season against Murray State with a 77-56 blowout victory. The Bears shot a season-high 60 percent from the field and made 12 3-pointers in the game. Four Bears scored in double figures, with Zaxton King leading the pack with 19 points. Dez White contributed 16 points, Vincent Brady II added 14, and Chase Martin scored 12 off the bench.
The Bears dominated the first half, making 8-of-10 shots from beyond the arc. In the second half, Murray State tried to mount a comeback, but King’s hot shooting with three consecutive 3-pointers helped the Bears maintain their lead. Missouri State also out-rebounded the Racers and held the lead for almost 38 minutes of the game.
The victory ended the Bears’ 10-game losing streak and marked a turnaround for the team. The Bears will look to continue their winning momentum in their upcoming game against Northern Iowa at Great Southern Bank Arena.
