University of Missouri women’s basketball secured a 68-61 victory over SMU in the SEC/ACC Challenge at Mizzou Arena. Sophomore guard Grace Slaughter recorded her second career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard Abby Schreacke added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, while junior guard Ashton Judd contributed 14 points. Senior guard Nyah Wilson also chipped in with 10 points.
Missouri started strong with a 7-0 run in the first quarter and maintained a lead throughout the game. Despite a brief tie in the fourth quarter, the Tigers regained control with strong offensive performances from Schreacke and Slaughter. The Tigers’ defense held SMU to just three points in the final minutes, securing the win.
Missouri outrebounded SMU 40-37 and capitalized on turnovers, scoring 12 points off of them. With this victory, the SEC won the cross-conference challenge 10-6. The Tigers will face Northern Illinois next at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
