Mizzou Wide Receiver Decides to Enter Transfer Portal

Missouri Tigers junior wide receiver Mekhi Miller has announced his decision to enter the transfer portal, as reported by PowerMizzou on 247Sports. Miller’s role with the Tigers has decreased in the past two seasons, with his stats dropping from 11 catches in 2023 to just three in 2024. Despite his decreasing production, Miller played a significant role on the Missouri offense, accounting for 38% of the team’s offensive snaps in 2024.

Miller is the first offensive or defensive player from Missouri to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining five specialists who have also announced their departures. The Tigers’ wide receiver room was deep in 2024, and despite losing key players like Luther Burden III and Theo Wease Jr., the team has signed promising prospects such as Donavan Olugbode, DeMarion Fowlkes, and Shaun Terry.

Miller, a three-star prospect from Kansas, chose Missouri over several other offers in 2022. In his three seasons with the Tigers, he has accumulated 22 catches for 311 yards and a touchdown. Looking ahead, Missouri will rely on emerging stars like sophomores Marquis Johnson, Joshua Manning, and Daniel Blood, as well as highly-ranked freshmen James Madison and Courtney Crutchfield, to step up and fill the void left by Miller’s departure.

In other news, Missouri quarterback Brady Cook has received two SEC awards, and head coach Eli Drinkwitz has shared his thoughts on the future offensive stars of the team.
