Brigham Young University quarterback Jake Retzlaff, the first Jewish quarterback in the program’s history, has signed an NIL sponsorship with the kosher food company Manischewitz. The junior, known as “BYJew,” has led the Cougars to a 10-2 record and is ranked No.18 in the country. Retzlaff, who has thrown for 2,796 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, grew up with Manischewitz products and is excited to partner with the iconic Jewish brand. He shares traditions like matzo pizza and potato latkes with his teammates at BYU. In a viral video, Retzlaff does football drills with a box of matzo, and the brand will release limited-edition Jake Retzlaff Matzo Boxes. Additionally, he will share his story and connection to Manischewitz on social media. Shani Seidman, the chief marketing officer of Manischewitz’s parent company Kayco, expressed pride in welcoming Jake to the family and supporting his football career while celebrating Jewish heritage and food. The partnership represents the brand’s goal of highlighting Jewish excellence and traditions.
