Man from Moberly raises holiday donations through singing | News from Mid-Missouri

Buddy Smith, inspired by the character Buddy the Elf, is using his singing talents to raise money for Shoes from the Heart, a non-profit that provides new shoes to children in Macon. As a Sales and Cultural Growth leader at Moberly Motors, Smith’s main focus is helping the youth. His goal is to raise $3,000 and has already raised $2,300 through delivering singing telegrams. Last year, he came up with the idea of wearing a Buddy the Elf costume and going around singing grams to raise money for the non-profit. After receiving a request from Shoes from the Heart in July, Smith was fully on board. He has been receiving bookings for his singing grams and many people have donated to the cause, even if they don’t book his act. Smith plans to continue working as the elf through Christmas, spreading joy and raising money for a good cause. His dedication to helping children in need is commendable and is making a positive impact in the community.
