Three Missouri State football players were recognized as part of the 2024 MVFC All-Newcomer Team. James BlackStrain, a transfer from Georgia Tech, had an impressive season with 24 receptions for 368 yards and 3 touchdowns. Dallas Winner-Johnson, a redshirt freshman, made an impact with 62 total tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. Kaleno Levine, who redshirted last season, recorded 50 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 7 passes defended.
Under Coach Ryan Beard’s leadership, the Bears finished the season with an 8-4 overall record and a 6-2 record in MVFC play. Their success included an eight-game winning streak and surpassing 5,000 total yards, 400 points, and 3,600 passing yards.
This season marked Missouri State’s final in the Missouri Valley Football Conference as they will officially join Conference USA on July 1, 2025, moving to the Division I Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for the first time. This transition reflects the team’s growth and success, with high hopes for continued achievement in their new conference.
The Bears’ strong performances and contributions from players like BlackStrain, Winner-Johnson, and Levine demonstrate their potential for future success as they enter a new chapter in collegiate football. #GoBears
