Missouri Releases Annual Performance Reviews for Hannibal and Palmyra


The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has released the Annual Performance Reports for the 2023-24 school year, showing progress towards meeting standards and indicators for the Missouri School Improvement Program. Commissioner of Education Karla Eslinger commented on the positive movement due to hard work at the local level.

Hannibal and Palmyra school districts in Missouri had their APR scores released, with Hannibal scoring 80% and Palmyra scoring 84.6%. Both districts were on par with the state average for academic achievement and growth. These schools were also exceeding in areas such as graduation rates, Individual Career and Academic Plans, and school readiness assessments for kindergarten students.

Statewide, the average APR score was 78.8%, with most districts meeting the rigorous requirements set by MSIP 6. Around 91.7% of students graduated in four years, with the percentage increasing for five, six, and seven-year graduation rates. Additionally, the majority of students across the state were attending school regularly and had Individual Career and Academic Plans in place.

Overall, Missouri schools are showing positive movement towards meeting higher expectations and implementing effective practices to improve student outcomes.
