The University of Missouri volleyball team, ranked No. 24, suffered a 3-1 loss to No. 12 Kentucky at the Hearnes Center. Three Tigers reached double-digit kills, with senior Jordan Iliff leading the team with 14 kills. Graduate student Mychael Vernon surpassed 1,500 career kills in the game. Despite their efforts, the Tigers couldn’t overcome the early deficit and fell to the Wildcats, who clinched the 2024 SEC title. Junior Regan Haith also contributed with 11 kills and a .455 hitting percentage.
In the first set, the Tigers and Wildcats exchanged points, with Kentucky eventually winning 25-19. Kentucky took the second set 25-14, while Mizzou fought back to win the third set 25-23. However, Kentucky secured the match with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set.
Looking ahead, the Tigers will face off against Auburn in a Tiger Battle on Senior Night. They will also await the announcement of the 2024 NCAA Tournament Selection show to see their postseason destination. The Tigers hope to make their 19th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
