Missouri State quarterback Jacob Clark has been named one of the 35 finalists for the prestigious Walter Payton Award, which is given to the national offensive player of the year in Division I FCS college football. Clark has had an outstanding season, setting multiple records for passing yards, completions, and touchdown passes at Missouri State. He leads the Missouri Valley Football Conference in several categories and ranks among the top players nationally in various statistics. Clark’s impressive performances, including a career-high 431 passing yards and four touchdowns in a game against Murray State, have helped lead Missouri State to an eight-game winning streak. The winner of the Walter Payton Award will be announced at the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Banquet on Jan. 4 in Frisco, Texas. Clark is one of three finalists from the Missouri Valley Football Conference, with representatives from all 13 FCS conferences on the list. The other finalists include quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and offensive linemen from schools across the country. Missouri State fans are encouraged to support Clark and the Bears as they compete for this prestigious award. #GoBears
