Executive Director of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame expresses optimism for the availability of PCCC funds for charities in the near future.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is currently facing a significant shortfall of funds from the 2024 Price Cutter Charity Championship Tournament. The event, which was supposed to award money to nearly 50 charities, had to cancel the Celebration of Sharing due to lower-than-expected revenue and higher-than-expected expenses. The Executive Director, Byron Shive, attributed the shortfall to various factors, including delayed invoicing to sponsors and donors. However, the hall is working diligently to update its accounting and secure funds to fulfill its obligations to the charities involved. The Children’s Smile Center is optimistic that they will still receive the $77,000 they were set to get from the tournament.

In a positive turn of events, Price Cutter Supermarkets has agreed to a new five-year deal to continue as the title sponsor of the annual Korn Ferry Tour event, while Hiland Dairy will be the presenting sponsor of the tournament. This partnership will hopefully provide some stability and financial support for future tournaments, ensuring that the charities involved can continue to benefit from the event. Despite the current challenges, the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is committed to resolving the shortfall and making distributions to the charities as soon as funds become available.
