Attack in Lebanon claims lives of healthcare workers

The World Health Organization has raised alarm about the increasing attacks on health care workers in Lebanon, with 24 attacks resulting in 27 deaths and 55 injuries. These attacks are happening amidst a heightened offensive by Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defied international calls for a cease-fire and vowed to continue striking Hezbollah “with all our might.” However, his office clarified that Israel shares the aims of the U.S.-led ceasefire initiative and appreciates their efforts, with discussions ongoing. In the previous 24 hours, 92 people were killed and 154 injured in Israeli raids across southern, central, and eastern Lebanon. Over 700 people have been killed since the start of Israel’s new aerial offensive on Monday. The situation in Lebanon remains dire as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah continues to escalate, putting the lives of health care workers and civilians at risk.
